Organic extra virgin olive oil
Premium Organics Hojiblanca is an extra virgin olive oil, which is cold pressed from the Andalusian and traditional olive variety.
Hojiblanca tastes like ripe fruit, with a slightly spicy aftertaste.
This oil is suitable for both frying and baking, but its strong flavour also makes it suitable for salad dressings, dipping or grilled vegetables. The oil is produced from olives from the 32 hectare olive grove of the extended Aguilera family. It is located in the Campi a Dauro valley, near Sierra Nevada in Andalusia.
The Aguilera family has 4,000 olive trees on their fields, which is only 3 kilometres from the mill, where the olive oil is pressed. It takes a maximum of 12 hours from harvesting to cold pressing.
To maintain the fresh fragrance, the extra virgin olive oil is always pressed at max 27 degrees.
It is the local mill master who, together with Jose Aguilera, carries out the tasting, and both are responsible for ensuring that the Hojiblanca oil has the expected high quality after cold pressing. Jose Aguilera and his family have been producing their own organic olive oil for over 25 years.
Tasting Notes
A relatively mild Hojiblanca oil with a citrus aroma, green grass, toasted almond and nutty flavour.
